Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis with Dr. Klein
Psychotherapy typically includes a consultation meeting where we determine if we might be a good fit together; after which sessions are scheduled 1-2 times per week. I use a depth approach that considers unconscious complex operations as vital in the way we live our lives.
Psychoanalysis is the most intensive and comprehensive form of therapy available and can only be practiced by psychologists or psychiatrists affiliated with a formal training institute. Adult analysis usually involved 3-5 meetings per week, and people often lay on the couch, although you can sit up if you prefer. Meeting more frequently allows for a thorough exploration of the deepest and most painfully held experiences of your life to manifest in both the content of our conversations and authentically in the relationship that unfolds between us. It is the working through of this pain in the context of a new relational experience between us that allows for the long term gains that psychoanalysis can provide above and beyond most other treatments.
